I’m Jennifer Sanderson, party planin’, Pinterest-lovin’, crazy crafter behind Pigskins & Pigtails.
I am a momma to 2 girls with an awesomely supportive husband. My days are spent doing creative website design and providing webmaster services for small businesses. My free time is spent crafting, hosting birthday parties, and creating fun memories with my family.
Pigskins & Pigtails started in 2010 as a space to share my creative projects and party photos with friends and family. When Pinterest came along, my blog grew like I never could have imagined. I am so thankful to all of the Pinners and followers who have taken this space from my first Elmo-themed party post to a growing blog.
What’s the name all about? When I started my blogging journey, I was a football coach’s wife (pigskins) who was toting 2 little girls in pigtails, all decked out in our Friday Night Lights attire, to high school football games all over Central Texas. We are still football fanatics, cheering on our Texas Longhorns and supporting our Gatesville Hornets, but my husband traded in his whistle to become a high school principal and the girls are outgrowing the pigtails stage.
I love to celebrate everything! I’ll take any excuse I can get to bake a cake or create a special gift. Birthdays have always been a big celebration in our family. I have fond memories of homemade birthday cakes and waking up on my birthday to my family singing “Happy Birthday.” I’ve carried that tradition on with my girls and I’m loving every memory we create with our themed parties and birthday morning traditions. We often remember their age by what party theme they had that year. “Remember when you were 8…it was the Color Run birthday party.” As they get older, I want them to remember these special days as that giddy Chirstmas/birthday morning excitement, that keeps you up at night and makes you want to jump out of bed in the morning!
