My daughter, Payton, is our dog lover. Her interest in studying dog breeds came from reading the The Puppy Place Series by Ellen Miles. For her 9th birthday party, she wanted a puppy adoption themed party.  I’m excited to share the details of this fun celebration we had.

The dog shaped cake and dog bowl (filled with Cocoa Puffs) were chocolate cakes. I made dog face cupcakes in a variety of dog breeds. The paw print cookies are sugar cookies with a Hershey’s Drop in the middle and 4 chocolate chips to make the paw.

Once her friends arrived, we had several activities and crafts.  We started with playing fetch, making a dog bed, dog collar and dog bones from clay.

We used paracord to make dog collars, complete with a metal stamped name plate.
