It's back to school time here in Texas. This school year is an exciting one for us. My mom is now teaching at our local elementary school. Being close has been so much fun. We worked together to get her settled into her new classroom. I'm excited to share how we used lots of color and a pencil theme to create a fun room for her 1st grade class!
Calendar area, word wall, classroom helpers, and money display:
The first grade hall had a camping theme, so outside the door I created a “Welcome to Our Neck of the Woods” bulletin board. I also added this pencil decal to the glass window area.
My favorite part of the room is the Be Happy, Be Kind, Be You vinyl decals that we added between the windows. Below are colorful poster boards that will frame anchor charts. The “What a Sharp Bunch” area is a display area for the student's work.
Of course, we had to recreate the first day photo booth. A couple years ago, I posted a First Day of Kindergarten photo booth. I have received so many sweet comments about it over the years.
I hope everyone has a great school year!
