For Taylor's 8th birthday, we needed a theme to entertain a group of busy 2nd graders. We decided to host a color run! We setup an obstacle course in the backyard with a beam to cross, ropes to crawl under, and hoops to run through. At each station, an adult showered them with colored powder. The color run was a huge hit and so much for everyone (adults included).
After the color run obstacle course, we headed inside for some colorful treats.
Color Your Cupcake (printable sign available here)
I frosted cupcakes with white frosting and the kids colored their own cupcake. The colored sugar was made with sugar and icing color, mixed in a bag and air dried.
Color Your Water (printables available here)
The kids enjoyed adding color to their water bottles with favored juice packets. We used Hawaiian Punch packets.
The cake was covered in fondant and splashed with the color powder (cornstarch and food color).
Favors (printables available here)
We sent each of the kids home with bubble bath and loofahs to get cleaned up. I purchased bubble bath in bulk and poured it into 8oz. water bottles, wrapped with this label.
The Invitation (available here)
I love this idea so much, I live in South Africa and my baby is turning 8th in January.
This was one of our favorite parties to date. I highly recommend it. The kids will love it!
