This summer our friends, Jen and Braden, got married in Las Vegas. Before their destination wedding, we hosted a casino themed couples shower to celebrate. The guys have always enjoyed getting together for poker and dice games. And since the wedding would take place in Vegas, I thought it would be fun to have a casino night.
I had help from some great friends to pull off this night.
We started the night with a cookout and delicious cheesecake bar.
Dice cupcakes were made from red fondant with white chocolate piped into them for the dots. The dice centerpieces were square vases painted red with vinyl dots. To hold the playing cards, I used plastic card holder picks (from the florist).
The tables were decorated with personalized poker chip confetti. (Coming soon to my shop!)
Then the games began… Each person received a cup with plastic chips. They could uses the chips to play craps or black jack.
When time expired, we had an auction with the poker chips won during the games. Not everyone had chips left at the end, but those who did got into a fun bidding war for the prizes.
The prizes were different gift baskets I put together with mini liquors, jerky, peanuts, candy bars, Farkle, packs of cards, and lotto tickets. One was a margarita themed basket. We gave the craps table dealer a special Crown and Coke gift since he didn't get to participate in the gambling.
Instead of gifts, we collected money for the couple's “Gambling Fund” to take with them to the wedding. It was a fun night with a great group of friends!
