Our little six year old requested a mermaid themed birthday party this year.  Here's a look at the details of her special under the sea party:

Sand Art Activity:  This was a huge hit. The kids loved making their own sand bottles.

  1. Where did you buy the plastic containers that the sand is sitting in? It looks like 1 piece with several dishes? I want this instead of using shoe plastic containers. Would love to hear back from you. Thanks

  5. Hi, Your party planning is fantastic! I’ve been asked to bake a mermaid birthday cake for a 4 year old’s party. Can you tell me a little bit about how you make the cake? did you buy a Barbie doll and remove the lower half?? Is the bottom part made of fondant?

    thanks for your advice!

    • Hi Ginny,
Thank you! The doll I purchased had a removable fin. I took that off and pushed the rest of the tail into the cake. I did cover the cake in fondant and replicated the tail in fondant to drape on top of the cake so it looks like she is sitting. Happy Baking!
