This summer I realized that we would need a spot for our soon-to-be kindergartener to hang her backpack each day.  I fell in love with this idea on Pinterest and had to create my own version.  I moved our art wall and made space for this in our kitchen.

I saved a lot of time by using a really large frame that we already had. I removed the glass, repainted and added the hooks.  The inside part is sheet metal from Lowes.  I painted it with chalkboard paint so it is magnetic and a fun writing surface.

My first attempt at chalk art is this Back to School Countdown.  We have the magnetic numbers that the girls look forward to changing each morning as we count down to the first day of school.
